TC’12 SLS Level 1 Teachers

In May, 2012 I attended a teacher conference for Speech Level Singing in beautiful Park City, Utah. I met some wonderful colleagues, over 150 were in attendance, including vocal teachers from the mainland and an international showing from Japan, England, Singapore, Italy, Australia, Poland, Germany and more. Being surrounded by a wealth of like-minded teachers who cared about excellence in their work and were open to more education was overwhelming and exciting!

The conference lasted six days and was filled with intensive lectures on; vocal technique, style, vocal health and science.

With Seth Riggs

I was again able to take a personal lesson with Seth Riggs, the founder of the Speech Level Singing (SLS) method and someone I owe a great deal (along with other Master SLS teachers).  Seth is intelligent, funny, visionary, passionate about the work (even at 82 years old!), and he believes everyone deserves the right to sing, and sing well!

This year was my third year in Utah being involved with Speech Level Singing and I truly believe that it was best year yet! This trip gave me such a boost of energy, knowledge and comfort, letting me know that there is a dedicated bunch involved in SLS around the world that care for vocal health and good technique that meets its goals!

I am so fortunate to have the opportunity to study and work with the greats in this field and am honored to be a member of the SLS organization!
